Amar'e Stoudemire claims he's not injured, despite reports

It’s been a strange year for the New York Knicks to say the least.

It’s been an even stranger year or the Knicks’ medical staff, who has attempted to hide a pair of summer knee surgeries and has imposed minutes restrictions on nearly every player on the roster.

Things just got a little bit stranger as it pertains to Amar’e Stoudemire.

Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Tuesday that Stoudemire is “out a while” due to swollen knees.

However Stoudemire took to Twitter to assure fans he is not injured.

Woodson explained that Stoudemire’s knee has swelled up and he will be sidelined indefinitely.

Stoudemire then claims that he is just sitting due to the team playing several back-to-back games in a row.

Talk about a season turning into a circus?

Who are we supposed to believe here?

The 31-year-old Stoudemire was really starting to come on nicely.  He had double-digit scoring in five of his eight games in December as he looked to regain form after multiple knee surgeries sidelined him for months at a time over the past several years.

However this just appears to be another setback in what has turned into a sad situation.

It would be nice to know the truth though.

If STAT is claiming he isn’t hurt, then why the need for the report claiming that he will be sidelined indefinitely?

However we have become used to this by now as the Knicks can’t seem to go two days without making themselves look foolish.

Sadly, this is just another in a long list of examples this season.

At this point, who knows how bad Stoudemire’s knees are. The only things that are for sure is that his production will be missed, and the Knicks have no idea how to handle a situation without coming out looking bad.
