Amar'e Stoudemire cleared for contact

Ever since it was revealed that New York Knicks’ forward Amar’e Stoudemire had another knee surgery, the question on everyone’s mind has been when actually Stoudemire would be ready to play during the season.

That answer is hopefully soon.

Al Iannazzone of The New York Daily News reported on Saturday, that Stoudemire has been cleared for contact by the Knicks medical staff. He also went as far as to say that Stoudemire could be ready for the season opener October 30.

Knicks’ head coach Mike Woodson confirmed the fact that he hopes to have Stoudemire in uniform when the Knicks tip-off the 2013-14 season against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Stoudemire also told Iannazzone that he just doesn’t plan on returning for the start of the season, but he plans on returning to dominant form as well.

That’s good to hear, but what else is STAT going to say? Of course he is confident in his abilities, but only time will tell how dominant he can become.

In September, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News uncovered that Stoudemire underwent an unreported surgery on one of his bothersome knees this past July. It was Stoudemire’s third surgery in less than a year, which included a preseason procedure before the 2012-13 campaign and a knee debridement in March that prematurely ended his regular season.

Hopefully for his sake, Stoudemire can get over this and turn in a healthy season.

He is a guy who deserves some good luck for a change.
