New York Knicks Rumors: Will Toure Murry accept invitation to training camp?

The New York Knicks are still in search of another point guard and would like to take a look at a promising young one, if he has the same interest.

The Knicks have invited guard Toure Murry to training camp, but he’s still weighing his options, a source tells Jared Zwerling of

New York has shown interest in Murry after a strong performance in the D-League and there has been speculation over the course of the past couple of weeks that they reportedly began talks with the Wichita State and D-League alum earlier this month.

Murry averaged 8.3 points and 1.6 steals in 23.4 minutes per game with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League this past season. He split his time in summer league between the Knicks and Rockets, notching 7.2 points and 1.0 steals in 19.1 minutes per game over six total contests.

Those aren’t exactly eye-popping numbers and Murry didn’t exactly fill the stat sheet while in college either.

But for some reason Knicks’ head coach Mike Woodson is reportedly a fan of Murry’s.

However the fact that he didn’t jump on the Knicks offer to invite him to camp would lead one to believe that he is drawing other interest from around the league.

There’s also the option that Murry could likely make more money overseas, but it looks like he is holding out for an NBA opportunity.

In addition to Murry, the Knicks have been linked to several point guards all offseason, most recently the likes of Sebastian Telfair, Bobby Brown and Delonte West.
