Rafeal Araujo 2004 No. 8 Overall Pick, Toronto Raptors

No wonder why Bosh couldn’t wait to get out of Toronto. I never heard of this guy until I did research for this article. To add salt to the wound, the next pick off the board was Andre Iguodala.

Marvin Williams 2005 No. 2 Overall Pick, Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks passed up on Chris Paul & Deron Williams. Moving on…

Ike Diogu 2005 No. 9 Overall Pick, Golden State Warriors

Picks like these are why franchises like the Warriors haven’t been good until now when they hit on their picks. Andrew Bynum was the next pick…

Fran Vazquez 2005 No, 11 Overall Pick, Orlando Magic

He never logged in a single minute in the NBA. Everyone hates on Dwight Howard, but he must have not been too happy about this horrible display of scouting and drafting.

Passed up on: Danny Granger

Yarosalv Korolev 2005 No. 12 Overall Pick, Los Angeles Clippers

This once again falls under the “who the hell is that” category. Really nothing much to say here but this makes me think to never pick a European big. There’s really only been one impact player, Dirk Nowitzki, and a bunch of franchise killers.

Adam Morrison 2006 No. 3 Overall Pick Charlotte Bobcats,

The face of the Michael Jordan era as an executive, Morrison is up there with Darko as worst picks ever. The Bobcats passed up on Brandon Roy, Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay, along with every other player who had more of an impact than Morrison in this draft. Straight out terrible pick.

Sheldon Williams 2006 No. 5 Overall Pick, Atlanta Hawks

Seriously, what was wrong with the Hawks? I know Williams was a great Duke player, but he couldn’t translate anything to the NBA. The Hawks could have had Chris Paul/Deron Williams with Rudy Gay/Brandon Roy. Ouch.
