New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony torch Heat in South Beach

The Miami Heat sit atop the NBA’s throne. Apparently the New York Knicks and star Carmelo Anthony were never fazed earning a hard fought 102-90 victory.

The Knicks are one of only three teams in the NBA to have a winning record against the Heat, and that continued Tuesday night as Anthony would net fifty; matching a career-high.

New York started the game off on an 8-0 run with Anthony scoring all eight points. But, Miami would go on a 9-0 run of their own, as Mike Miller would match Anthony’s intensity.

The Heat would go into the locker room up 58-50.

The Knicks & Heat exchanged leads into the third quarter, until New York would go on a 7-0 run with five minutes remaining in the third. But, the Heat would battle back and take a two point lead of their own , until Knick sharpshooter Steve Novak would bury a three pointer deep in the corner as time would expire. The Knicks would head into the fourth quarter up two, 74-72.

New York would extend on their lead as Kenyon Martin would slam over Chris Andersen with authority as the Knicks built a six-point lead.

Miami would still show fight, even though playing without superstars LeBron James, and Dwayne Wade, as Chris Bosh converted a three-point play to keep the game close.

But, Anthony was the story on Tuesday, as he continued his brilliant play by hittting another deep three.

Center Tyson Chandler tacked on two free-throws, and J.R. Smith hit a step back three with under two minutes to give the Knicks a lead they never looked back from.
