Jason Kidd expected to start vs. Bucks

After sitting out Wednesday night’s win against the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks’ guard Jason Kidd is expected to return to the starting lineup Friday night when the Knicks host the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden.

“Well [Kidd] will be back tomorrow [against Milwaukee], so we will put him back in the [starting] lineup.” Knicks’ head coach Mike Woodson told ZagsBlog.com’s Matt Falkenbury.

Kidd’s back is still sore but isn’t viewed as being serious even though he only played a combined 20 minutes in games against Philadelphia and Atlanta before sitting out Wednesday against the Magic.

The future Hall of Famer played only five minutes against the Hawks on Sunday, so he has had close to five days off to rest.

How much Kidd pays against the Bucks remains to be seen though?

He is not on a minutes limit, but Woodson did want to start cutting him back to make sure his legs are fresh for the postseason.

In addition, Milwaukee boasts one of the fastest backcourts in the NBA with Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, so it is unlikely that Kidd will see a lot of time guarding either one defensively.
