Carmelo Anthony is Game-Time Decision Versus Nets

Carmelo Melo AnthonyThe third chapter of the Battle of New York will take place at Madison Square Garden tonight, but Carmelo Anthony may not be able to play.

Anthony is currently dealing with a sprained left ankle and is a game-time decision for Wednesday night’s duel. However, according to ESPN New York, Knicks coach Mike Woodson believes his star might try to play through the pain.

Carmelo Anthony is a game-time decision, but Knicks coach Mike Woodson said his star player might try to give it a go tonight against the Nets.

“He’s moving around pretty good, so we’ll see,” Woodson said after the morning shootaround. “He still hasn’t indicated that he’s going to play. I think he’s going to come out and warm up, and just see how he feels.”

Anthony has already missed two games due to the ankle injury, something he hurt in the Knicks’ big win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Knicks have gone 1-1 with Anthony out, and if he misses a third consecutive game, Chris Copeland will likely get the start.

The Knicks will host the Nets for the first time since they moved to Brooklyn tonight in the World’s Most Famous Arena. The Knicks and Nets have split their first two meetings and if tonight’s game will be anything like the past two, fans should be in for a treat.
