It’s a little early to look towards the All-Star break, but New York Knicks’ sharpshooter Steve Novak is doing exactly that.
Novak, who led the NBA in three-point shooting a season ago, said he would like to compete in this season’s three-point contest for the first time.
“That would be great,” he said to ESPN’s Jared Zwerling. “I mean, I think that’s something that just happens because of whatever happens in the season. I’d love to, of course, be in it. It’s not something where before the game think, ‘I need to do this,’ but, of course, it would be awesome.”
Though he had a great year last season shooting the ball, Novak never really got off the Knicks’ bench until a couple weeks before the All-Star Game.
Considering he has cemented his mark as one of the best long distance shooters in the game today, you would think it is a lock that he will be in Houston competing on All-Star Saturday night.
Novak’s pure looking jumper will likely be featured around the world in a contest that he should fare very well in.
If that’s the case, I expect to see an All-Star version of the “Discount Triple Check.”
