Jeremy Lin, other former Knicks make 2012-13 Debuts

Much was made of all the turnover on the New York Knicks roster during the offseason, but while the newcomers on this Knicks roster will have to wait at least one more day to make their debuts for their new team, a couple former Knicks made their debuts in new uniforms last night, most notably Jeremy Lin and Landry Fields.

Lin started at point guard for the Houston Rockets and had a decent debut in the Rockets 105-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

His debut was overshadowed by that of James Harden, but Lin finished with 12 points, eight assists and four steals on 5-of-12 shooting. Much of Lin’s assists were made easy from the insane performance of Harden, but Lin wasn’t bad. On the negative side, he missed both of his three-point attempts and turned the ball over four times.

Fields on the other hand wasn’t so fortunate.

The former Knicks’ guard started for the Raptors and was held scoreless, missing all six of his shots from the floor, grabbing only two rebounds and one assist as the Raptors ended up blowing a fourth quarter lead and lost to the Indiana Pacers 90-88.

Other former Knicks who debuted for new teams included Toney Douglas for Houston (two points, one assist in 13 minutes) and Jared Jeffries for the Portland Trail Blazers (no points, two rebounds in nine minutes).
