Even though NBA players are getting paid millions of dollars playing basketball and a president will likely do very little to change that, they want the best man to run the Oval Office. These athletes will head to their local voting booths just like ordinary Americans and make their voices heard in this upcoming presidential election.
Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks joined Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and NBA Commissioner David Stern at a fundraiser in support of President Barack Obama.
Pro Basketball Talk: The skills camp ($5,000 a head), autograph session then dinner Wednesday night reportedly raised about $3 million for Obama’s re-election campaign.
There were also other former NBA players in attendance, showing just how much support Obama has in the NBA world. From current players to NBA front office personnel, Obama has the backing of hundreds of people associated with the league.
