The Battle for New York is set to begin.

Don’t worry New Yorkers, the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets rivalry will get underway very shortly and according to reports, the date for the first meeting is Nov. 1.

The NBA will not release its full schedules until Thursday, but we already have a taste of who the Knicks will face in their first two games. Daily Knicks reported earlier that the Knicks will have their home opener against the NBA champion Miami Heat, but they will tip off the 2012-13 season against the Nets.

The New York Knicks will open their season against the Brooklyn Nets, opening up the new Barclays Center and a budding rivalry in New York, according to Newsday. It is a TNT nationally televised game on Nov. 1, according to the report.

The new Barclays Center will be home to the Nets and it will host this first edition of the Battle of New York. Although the game will be televised on TNT, this is something every New Yorker should try to get tickets to.
