The Houston Rockets will meet with restricted free-agent guard Jeremy Lin on Wednesday in hopes of bringing him onto their squad. According to sources, the Rockets are expected to present Lin with a contract offer during the meeting, New York Times.
The Rockets had Lin on their roster previously, but the New York Knicks picked him up after the Rockets waived him in December. Houston had plenty of point guards on their roster last season, but with Goran Dragic expected to go elsewhere, the team could use Lin.
One of the people told The Associated Press on Tuesday the Rockets are planning to make Lin a multiyear offer, though the Knicks can match it and have said they intend to keep him.
The Knicks may also lose another young player, Landry Fields. The Knicks are not expected to match the Toronto Raptors offer sheet for Fields due to money issues, and they could face the same situation with Lin.
