This transaction could be a risky one for the New York Knicks, but if Rashard Lewis can get close to his previous form, he would add a whole different dimension to the roster. Lewis was a valuable piece on the Orlando Magic’s roster when they were an elite team and opponents had trouble defending the forward. Lewis was a versatile player and could do damage from the paint and the perimeter.
Nevertheless, Lewis has lost his touch and is no longer that dynamic player. The New Orleans Hornets decided to buy-out Lewis, which means he now has the freedoms of a free-agent. Still, Lewis carries with him a large amount of guaranteed money so possible franchises must be weary before adding him.
The Knicks are one of the team Lewis is interested in and if he can prove to the team that he still has some legs in him, he would make a nice addition to the roster.
