The 2012 off-season has been very hectic and things are expected to get more chaotic. Free-agency has just started and with that come a plethora of signings and trades. Before we have a chance to blink, the Vegas Summer League will tip-off and teams will begin reporting to their training camps.

The Knicks did not have an ideal end to the 2011-12 season and it was clear that some change needed to be made to the roster. The front-office has made big moves previously and they need to pull off some more if the Knicks want to once again become title contenders.

There have already been numerous free-agent rumors and possible trade scenarios discussed. However, at this point none of those reports are relevant and only time can tell if they can actually happen.

So, we here at Daily Knicks have decided to compile all of the Knicks rumors so far this off-season and come up with a list of the five best, and most realistic, off-season moves the Knicks can pull off.

5: Sign Free-Agent Marcus Camby

Although Camby is not a marquee name in this class of free agents, he could be a valuable piece to the Knicks. Camby previously played for the franchise, so he would feel at home if he does return to New York. Camby, 38, has narrowed his list of teams down to six, including the Knicks.

New York lacks reliable second-unit big men, but Camby would fit in that role perfectly. He would provide the team with rebounding and defense, assets that the coaching staff would surely appreciate. Although Camby may not play a lot at the power forward position leaving Amar’e Stoudemire without capable support, he would work very well behind Tyson Chandler.

Chandler and Camby would play pretty much the same role and adding another veteran to the locker-room would help the Knicks tremendously.
