Although New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing was reported to be the next head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, it seems as though that deal has died. Ewing is quite close with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, but the two friends will not be joining forces with this franchise, New York Daily News.
“I just want to thank the Bobcats for giving me the chance to be interviewed,” Ewing said via text message.
The Bobcats are in need for a head coach and Ewing would have made perfect sense. Ewing has seen success as both a player and as an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic.
Charlotte will have its hands full this off-season as it tries to improve from its seven-win season.
