Mike Woodson Wants Anthony in Better Shape

The New York Knicks can see their season come to an end tonight at Madison Square Garden. The team is trailing the Miami Heat 0-3 and it may get swept out of the post-season for yet another season.

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony was having a stellar month of April, but once the post-season started he has struggled. Anthony has not been scoring like he once was and he has not been getting his teammates involved.

“I got to push him to be in better shape when you start the season,” Woodson said [New York Post]. “A lot of things that got to be changed. Not a lot of things, but … There’s got to be some changes to get to the next level.’’

The Knicks did not have a full training camp this season due to the lockout, so some players were not in basketball shape. If the season does in fact end tonight, the Knicks need to make sure their players are ready for the 2012-13 season.
