New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler has been named the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season. Chandler has been working towards this goal since the beginning of the season, and all his hard-work has paid off.
Chandler will be given the trophy on Wednesday at the Knicks’ practice facility, one day before he plays the Miami Heat.
In the 2011-12 season, Chandler averaged 1.4 blocks and 9.9 rebounds (6.5 defensive) this season. He also added 11.3 points per game to the Knicks’ offensive attack, Sporting News.
