New York Knicks Rookie Iman Shumpert Tears ACL

New York Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the NBA playoffs. Shumpert suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Knicks’ Game 1 against the Miami Heat and had to be taken off the court by two teammates.

The Knicks are now without two point guards, first Jeremy Lin and now Shumpert. Shumpert was well respected in the locker-room and developed into the Knicks’ best perimeter defender.

The Knicks lost Game 1 100-67 and are looking to rebound in Game 2 which is Monday. The team will surely miss Shumpert, but it is now up to Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire to raise their games.
