The New York Knicks will play Game 1 of their first round playoff series of the 2012 NBA Playoffs on Saturday. Although the time and opponent are not yet official, we have learned that the Knicks will indeed play on Saturday, Apr. 28.
The Knicks will play either the Miami Heat or Chicago Bulls, and if the post-season began today the Knicks would be in Miami on Saturday.
Since the Knicks are beginning their post-season Saturday, coach Mike Woodson will only have one day to prepare his players. If you asked him, he would have preferred to play on Sunday, ESPN.com.
“If we come out of (Thursday) night’s game and then have to go right in and play Saturday, that’s just one day of preparation,” Woodson said on Wednesday. “So, Sunday gives me one more day which would be kind of nice, if they do that.”
The Knicks will play their final regular season game tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats. Don’t be shocked to see Woodson rest some of his starters, but the Bobcats will surely play their best players. Charlotte has won seven games this season and needs one more win in order to avoid the worst winning percentage in NBA history.
