Carmelo Anthony Wants Mike Woodson to Remain as Coach

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony would like to see coach Mike Woodson return to the team next season. Woodson took over the coaching position after Mike D’Antoni resigned and he has done a masterful job with this Knicks team.

New York is poised to win some games in the playoffs, and with Woodson’s defensive mentality, the Knicks can surely pull off a first-round upset. When asked if he would like seeing Woodson run the sidelines, Anthony responded back with some positive words.

“Of course,” Anthony said [New York Post]. “Just to see what he’s brought to our team, the confidence that he’s instilled into everybody, the belief that he has in everybody. Just his coaching style and the way he coached. Kind of a hard-nosed coach. Hold everybody accountable. I’ve been saying that. Everybody is responsible for their own actions.

“I would love to see him around here.”

The Knicks are a much better team under Woodson than they were with D’Antoni, and the squad is playing well on both ends of the court. The defense has improved dramatically, but the team’s offensive attack will be dangerous come playoff time.
