Amar'e Sixth Man?

There are only a few games left as the Knicks continue to fight for their playoff lives. Sunday’s
game against the Heat was a tough loss. This was a game we really could’ve used Amar’e’s (who might make his return against the NJ Nets) services. Will he start?

One way or the other, I really like our current starting five (Tyson, Melo, Landry, Iman and Baron). I feel that if Amar’e were to come off the bench as our sixth man, it would really take our team to the next level. This is not to say that Amar’e isn’t starter material because he’s still one of the better power forwards in the league. This move would not only benefit the whole team, but both our stars. Why Amar’e to the bench and not Melo? We do not have a solid big man off the bench who can score. Also if you have noticed, when Melo sits down, the Knicks suffer because they do not have another consistent scorer. This is where Amar’e could step in and fill in for the five and the four spot.

Before the Melo trade, Amar’e was playing at a high level, just as Melo is doing  now. Since Amar’e’s injury, Melo’s has been putting up MVP numbers. He has played really well at the four spot, creating mismatch problems for opposing teams.

Will Amar’e consider it? That’s the million dollar question.
