New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony met with Trayvon Martin’s family before his game versus the Washington Wizards on Friday. Trayvon’s mother Sybrina Fulton, and older brother, Jahvaris Fulton, 21, were in New York City on Thursday for an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
Anthony then invited the family, including the three and a half year old brother, to the Madison Square Garden [ESPN.com]. Anthony spoke privately with the family and posed for pictures in the Knicks’ locker-room. The family did not stay to watch the game as they were cautious about further media attention.
Several NBA players have shown support for Trayvon Martin and his family by wearing hoodies during practices and before games. Martin was wearing a hoodie on the night of Feb. 26 when he was allegedly killed by George Zimmerman due to racial profiling in Sanford, Fla.
