Carmelo Anthony Having Trouble Scoring

Although Carmelo Anthony is known as one of the best scorers in the NBA and a clutch player when the game is on the line, he has been struggling on the court as of late. Anthony’s shot is no longer there and frankly, he not has not been a threat on the offensive end.

Through 39 games, the Knick is averaging career lows with 20.0 points a game and shooting 39.9 percent from the field. Even with offensive systems that allow Anthony to thrive, he does not seem like the same player.

“I wish I had an answer to that question,” said Anthony after the Knicks’ 101-79 win over the Pistons. “I’ve been around this game for a long time. It happens. I’m not too concerned about it at this point. As far as my offensive game, I’m telling you, I promise you, I’m not concerned about that.”

A struggling Anthony and an injured Amar’e Stoudemire is the worst case scenario for the Knicks. If this team wants to make a push for the Atlantic Division crown and avoid the Bulls or Heat in the opening round, Anthony needs to get it going soon.
