Winning Streak Snapped!

The Knicks played and won such a high intensity game against the tough Sixers, only to lose to the Toronto Raptors. Of course we cannot expect the Knicks to win each and every game, but you would like to see them at least beat the teams they’re supposed to beat. In last night’s game against the Raptors, the Knicks’s offense was nonexistent. Melo and Lin didn’t perform well. Amar’e played okay and could have had over twenty points if he would have made more of his free throws. The bright spot for the Knicks was Steve Novak who contributed fifteen points off the bench. As for the Toronto Raptors, shooting guard DeMar DeRozan was amazing. He killed the Knicks as he finished the game with thirty points.

This is the first loss for the Knicks under coach Mike Woodson. It would be interesting to see how they’ll respond tonight as they square off against the Detroit Pistons. The Knicks should win this game, just as they should have won last night’s game. The season is winding down and currently, the Knicks are sitting in the eighth seed of the eastern conference with the Milwaukee Bucks are right behind them, who have been playing well as of late, thanks to their acquisitions, Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh. We still have time to climb up the standings and go as far up as the fourth seed, but in order to get there, we need to keep playing with a sense of urgency. We cannot afford to let up against teams that we should be able to defeat. Will last night’s loss be a wake up call for the Knicks? We’ll find out tonight.
