GameDay Preview: Knicks-76ers

Following last night’s beat down of the Toronto Raptors, the New York Knicks will enter play this evening with a bit of a chip on their shoulder, which they will need in order to beat a very tough Philadelphia 76ers team.

The 76ers are currently sitting 4th in the Eastern Conference and 1st in the Atlantic Division, a spot which many predicted the Knicks to hold at the beginning of the season. One of the main reasons for Philadelphia’s success has been their depth at almost every position. Their bench features three big-time contributors in Thad Young, their leading scorer Lou Williams and former starter Jodie Meeks. The three-pronged bench attack will be a major concern for the Knicks considering their weakness in the bench department.

The key for the Knicks will be to neutralize that bench attack by getting big games out of J.R Smith and Steve Novak.  Mike Woodson will also need to get big nights out of his starters in order to build a solid lead early which help reduce the impact of the 76ers bench.

Game time is 7:00 PM
