Toney Douglas Avoiding Trade Rumors

With the NBA’s trading deadline approaching rapidly, (March 15) many names have been surfacing. This is a stressful time for players as they can be traded to another team in a matter of seconds.

The New York Knicks acquired Carmelo Anthony last year near the trade deadline and while they will likely no be trading for a superstar this season, someone could be shipped out.

Knicks point guard Toney Douglas has not seen a lot of playing time this season, and of course, he has heard his name in trade rumors. However, Douglas is doing whatever it takes to avoid those talks.

“I want to be a good teammate,’’ Douglas told The Post. “I don’t want to talk about that or deal with that. I can control what I can control. That’s me working out, being ready. I don’t want to get into all that.’’

Douglas has been on the bench for a while and is having trouble finding minutes behind Jeremy Lin and Baron Davis. Perhaps it is best for him to go to another team where he would be able to play more.
