Melo thinks CP3 should have been a Laker

Carmelo Anthony would have preferred to see his fellow Jordan Brand member Chris Paul in a Lakers uniform this season. ‘Melo talked to the NYDailynews today about his thoughts on the CP3 veto situation:

Unlike the NBA commissioner, who prevented Paul from going to the Lakers in a trade three weeks ago, the Knicks’ superstar believes it would have benefited everyone had Paul wound up playing in the same back-court with Kobe Bryant.

“I thought it would have been good for the Lakers and good for the whole NBA,” Anthony said. “As a guy who loves to compete, I would have liked to see him out West with the Lakers. For me — I’ve been battling the Lakers for the last seven years when I was in the Western Conference — I liked that.”

“Chris is over that, he has to be, at this point,” said Anthony, who had hoped that the Knicks could trade for his close friend. “At this point, that’s just a chapter in his book. I talked to him before his first game with the Clippers, when they beat the Warriors, and he’s super excited to be on that team.”

Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks will have a first hand look at the Lakers (team that CP3 should have been on) tonight following a disappointing loss to the Warriors on Wednesday(12/28) night. Paul wont have a chance to face ‘Melo and the Knicks until the second to last game of their seasons(4/25/12).
Daily Knicks Peeps:  Now that we all have the luxury of 20/20 hindsight vision, do you think the trade to the Clippers was better than the original trade to the Lakers?
