Before Darko came to the Knicks last season, he worked on his "Blue Steel" look. This summer he decided instead to work on his game. Turns out that was more useful. Go figure.

Here is it Knicks fans; the day you all have been waiting for over a decade, a chance to see your team start the season with realistic hopes of a championship. A who better then to bring that joy to you but the gift giver himself, Santa. The Knicks and Celtics kick-off the NBA season with a ealry afternoon rival match-up.

Everything about this season seems diffrent for the Knicks, from an updated arena, to updated front court. Amare and ‘Melo have had all Summer and Fall(see David Stern) to prepare for some early revenge against the team that swept them out of the playoffs not but just a mere seven months ago, but this time around they have some new help(insert Tyson Chandler).

Injury Update:

One of the Celtics Big 4 players may not be available for the game, Paul Pierce has been nursing a bruised knee most of the pre-season.

Doc Rivers says that if head athletic trainer Ed Lacerte gives the thumbs up, Pierce will be on the court at noon on Sunday.

“I have to see Eddie tell me that he can play,” Rivers said Wednesday night. “If he tells me that, he’s playing. I don’t care how many practices (he has had).”

Even though Rivers left that door open, he seemed to close it a bit after Friday’s practice.

“I think we’ll know better [Saturday],” Rivers said on Friday. “Paul may wake up and say, ‘Coach, I wanna go.’ I can tell you this, it’s very unlikely he’ll start if he plays. I don’t think that’ll happen. If he does play, he’ll play 15 to 20 minutes, but right now, I don’t see him playing.”

Daily Knicks fans, what do you think the outcome of today’s game will be?

Whoever comments the correct score and winner before the end of the game will get shouted out FaceBook and a special surprise gift!
