According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, players association President Derek Fisher and his teammate Kobe Bryant are willing to take a 50-50 BRI split. However, before Fisher can agree to such split, he must have a general consensus among his other players. Unfortunately, reports say Boston Celtics stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are not in favor of a 50% split.
Twitter: “Stephen A Smith reported on ESPN radio that Fisher and Kobe are willing to accept 50%, while other players (KG & Pierce) would not”
A new CBA can be signed only if the parties know what they want to present, the union cannot expect to propose a BRI split if the numbers are still under debate.
