New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has dropped out of the World All-Star Classic, sources say. The tour was set to feature a myriad of NBA stars, but the six-game festival is losing some of its appeal now that players are dropping out. Not only has Anthony pulled out, but LeBron James and Chris Paul will reportedly no longer play.
However, the tour currently still has Kobe Bryant and Amar’e Stoudemire on board.
“This actually may be good news for the NBA, since part of the reason James, Anthony and Paul have decided not to play is that they’re “somewhat optimistic about the season beginning shortly,” sources tell ESPN.”
Who knows, perhaps these players are rethinking their decision to head out of the country because a new CBA may be on the horizon.
