New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony will be taking his Baltimore-based ‘Team Melo’ to the City of Brotherly Love. ‘Team Melo’ will be playing Philadelphia based ‘Team Philly’ on Sept. 25 at the historic Palestra basketball court. ‘Team Melo’ consists of NBA stars LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul, while leader of ‘Team Philly’, Hakim Warrick, has recruited players like Lou Williams, Markief Morris and Marcus Morris, Kyle Lowry and Wayne Ellington.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. EST and Kurk Lee, an official with the Melo League, predicts a successful night. “It’s going to be fun,” said Lee.
Tickets for the much anticipated game will be sold from $35-$50 and the revenue is expected to be donated to various charities. ‘Team Philly’ tried to add superstar Kobe Bryant and sensation Tyreke Evans, but neither player has committed to play.
