Amar'e Avoids Chinese Street Food During Trip

If you ever travel to another country the best way to fully grasp the life of the local residents is to spend time at attractions and to try out the nation’s unique food. New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire toured China with Nike, and he tried to make the most out of his trip.

Aside from playing basketball with the youngsters, Stoudemire had time to visit many tourist attractions in China and he even gave its food a chance. However, there were a couple dishes STAT just couldn’t handle― scorpions, seahorses and silkworms.

Stoudemire did not want to have anything to do with the Chinese street food and he wrote this on his Web site, “Wheels up from Beijing! I am on my way home from a great trip overseas. Spent my last few days getting the local flavor of the people and culture of Beijing by visiting the Chinese Street Market. I was starving, but there was no way I was messing with these.  They deep fry them here.  I am going to have to pass!”

“Check this out. This gives you a better idea as to why I had to pass on these “delicious” delicacies. They were serving scorpions, sea horses and silkworms!”
