Chris Mullin was inshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday for his amazing career at St. John’s University and with various NBA teams.
Former New York Knicks President of Basketball Operations, Donnie Walsh, regrets not signing Mullin to the team’s front office. According to a source, Walsh’s biggest regret during his tenure with the Knicks was not bringing Mullin on board to become his successor.
Walsh said at the time that Mullin was not ready to take on such challenges, so he decided to end any contract negotiations that were taking place. Team owner James Dolan gave Walsh permission to sign Mullin, but both parties parted ways.
Now, Walsh is no longer the head man in the Knicks front office, but did bring Knicks basketball back to relativity. Who knows how this current team would have looked like if Mullin joined the franchise.
