New York Knicks guard Chauncey Billups has a goal next season besides helping the team reach basketball immortality, the one-time NBA champion wants to show the world he still can be productive. Billups is currently working to get his knee back to 100%, which was injured during Game 1 of the First Round in the 2011 Playoffs.
“I think I got a lot to offer my team when the season starts,” Billups told The New York Post. “I’m looking forward to showing people I’m still me.”
Although Billups was cleared for individual workout last week, he is still unable to play in full five-on-five games. Nevertheless, that is not holding back Mr. Big Shots from getting into basketball shape.
“I’m getting better. I’m just now starting to work on the court, individual workouts,” Billups told The Post. “Not yet 5-on-5, but it’s feeling a lot better.”
