During a charity weekend in Puerto Rico, Carmelo Anthony told local newspaper El Nuevo Dia that he is interested in playing in China.
Daily Knicks reported earlier that Stephon Marbury told Anthony not to go to China, as he would find adjusting to the style quite difficult. However, someone of Anthony’s skill level can succeed in any platform whether in China or the NBA.
With the league lockout in full steam, it seems as though playing overseas will be a likely option for Carmelo Anthony. The league and players union are extremely far apart on the major issues and reports say this upcoming week will feature multiple players signing contracts with foreign teams.
Deron Williams was the first superstar to head overseas, and Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade are rumored to head off also.
