Three-time Slam Dunk Champion and former New York Knick, Nate Robinson, is interested in playing another sport during the NBA lockout. Nate Robinson is looking to join the NFL if the NBA lockout threatens the 2011-12 season. Robinson, standing at 5 foot 9, played well at the cornerback position at Washington before deciding in 2003 to solely focus on basketball.
“I might go play football,” Robinson told SLAM. “Do something that nobody’s tried to do.”
However, going to play on the gridiron will bring along a lot of risk. If Robinson joins the NFL, he will risk the $4.5 million remaining on the final year of his NBA contract. It would be unwise for his to put his body under such stress just for a minimum salary in the NFL.
Nevertheless, seeing little Nate on Monday Night Football will be quite entertaining.
