Amar'e Stoudemire's Sore Back Still Not 100%

New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire sprained his back during the pre-game warm-ups of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Stoudemire was limited for the remainder of the series due to his back problems, and the Knicks were eventually swept by the Boston Celtics.

Many people believed the Knicks could have challenged the Celtics if Stoudemire was healthy, and that he could have taken some pressure off Carmelo Anthony who carried the Knicks in the first two games.

Despite beliefs that Stoudemire would recover from his back injury during the off-season, he is still battling the issue. Stoudemire is not 100% , and continues to feel pain from the muscles he sprained two months ago.

“It’s still a little sore,” Stoudemire told The New York Post. “But it’s definitely getting better. I’ve been working out, getting rehab on the back. It’s getting stronger. It’s still pretty tight with certain movements.”

The Knicks need a healthy Stoudemire in order to make a deep playoff run in this upcoming season. They cannot expect to contend in the Eastern Conference if Stoudemire cannot perform to his full capabilities.
