Knicks Looking to Add Defensive Minded-Assistant Coach

The New York Knicks are looking to bolster their title chances this off-season, and the front office is looking to improve the coaching staff as the first step. Player transactions will begin later this summer but coaching changes can occur at any give time, thus the franchise is wasting no time in preparation for the off-season.

Despite the latest rumors that Mike D’Antoni may not return to the Knicks next season as head coach, it seems as though the front office will hire a defensive-minded assistant coach for him. D’Antoni is known as more of an offensive oriented,  so a defensive assistant will be a boon for the struggling squad.

The Knicks were swept out of the 2011 Playoffs by the more physical Boston Celtics team, so this addition to the coaching staff will definitely help them make a deeper run next year.
