Carmelo, Amar'e and Chauncey- 2011 Exit Interviews

The New York Knicks’ season ended in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd after the Celtics swept them out of the Playoffs. The Knicks acquired stars Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony mid-season, and fans finally received the star-studded team they wanted. New York City was in euphoria, and it believed the Knicks could make a deep playoff run in 2011.

The Knickerbockers received a bid to the post-season for the first time in seven years, but they failed to provide a cause for joy for the fans. Anthony and Billups could not help the Knicks beat the Celtics in Round 1, and they walked off the MSG floor with their heads down.

New Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony spoke to the media before beginning his off-season break, and he was clearly despondent. Carmelo was obviously displeased with the team’s play in Round 1, but he seemed optimistic with its chances next season. However, Anthony reiterated the fact that the Knicks are still rebuilding, and it will be easier to focus on basketball without any uncertainty to the roster.

Amar’e Stoudemire had a different disposition on the Knicks’ play, and he was content with them making the Playoffs. Stoudemire said the goal heading into the season was to make the post-season, and the squad should feel upbeat with meeting their objective. “We have a solid core.” Said Stoudemire. ” Our opportunity to win a championship is close.” With Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups locked up for next season, Stoudemire is confident the Knicks can reach basketball immortality.

As for the Knicks’ starting point guard Chauncey Billups, he expressed his frustration during the conference. Billups missed the majority of the series due to injury, and he believes the outcome would have altered if he had played. Chauncey Billups wants a fresh start with the Knicks, and he will be able to bond with his new team now that his contract has been extended.
