Linkin' Center: Where Chauncey's On Our Minds

Tonight’s game isn’t must win; it’s more like pretty please win. There’s a good chance the Knicks won’t have Chauncey, and even if he does play, there’s zero chance he’ll be 100%. But if production continues to come from Toney Douglas and Landry Fields can get involved early, the Knicks should be right in it. Take the jump for some brilliant links.* A serious positive to take away from Game 1 was the defensive performance. Especially in the paint.

The Knicks arguably played their best defensive quarter of the year in the second, limiting the Celtics to 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting (33.3 percent) and forcing them into six turnovers (in comparison, the Knicks only had two). At halftime, the score was 51-39, but then the Cs, led byRajon Rondo, came out running after the break and outscored the Knicks 20-13 in the third quarter.

* Landry Fields has a diary!

* A win tonight not only evens up the series, but it puts the Knicks at a different confidence level.

* Walt Frazier gave some critical yet honest analysis in Game 1. It was nice to see.

* With his career on the brink of extinction, Shelden Williams has finances on his mind.

* How will the Chauncey injury really affect New York?

* This is pretty cool.
