3. John Starks
John Starks may be one of the most remembered and popular players in Knicks history. Starks brought energy to the team, and fans loved his athleticism and his offensive firepower. Starks helped the Knicks emerge as a serious title contender in the 1990s, and he played along side Patrick Ewing to bring prosperity back to Madison Square Garden.
Starks will be in the minds’ of Knicks fans for his amazing playoff performances and plays. He was a capable scoring and on certain nights he had to carry the Knicks to victory. Perhaps Starks most memorable highlight of his career was when he pulled off a baseline dunk over several Chicago Bulls players in the 1993 NBA playoffs.
John Starks spent eight seasons with the New York Knicks and along the way he helped the team reach the NBA Finals and emerge as one of the league’s best teams; Starks averaged 14.1 points per game, 3.9 assists per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.
