2. Mark Jackson
Mark Jackson was the home-town hero, and he shined as a star during his time at St. Johns University. The Knicks drafted the Brooklyn-product in the 1987 NBA Draft, and fans were dazzled with his speed and skill-set. As a rookie, Jackson averaged an incredible 10.6 assists per game, a franchise rookie record which still stands to this day. Jackson spent his first five seasons with the Knicks, and although he later joined the Indiana Pacers, Knicks fans still appreciate and value Jackson’s efforts.
In his time in New York, Jackson averaged 11.0 points per game, 8.0 assists per game and 3.9 rebounds per game.
