The first episode of DailyKnicks.com’s Top 5 series―the five greatest point guards in Knicks’ history.

5. Dick McGuire

Dick McGuire was drafted by the Knicks in the 1949 Draft and he spent his first eight seasons in Manhattan. As a Knicks, McGuire led the team to three consecutive Finals appearances and he is currently ranked third in the franchise’s all-time assists list. Dick McGuire was named to seven All-Star teams and he was eventually inducted into the Hall-of-Fame in 1993. As a member of the Knicks, McGuire averaged 7.9 ppg, 5.5 apg and 3.6 rpg.
